Portland Friends! Doug Wieselman, a truly phenomenal musician whom Ive known and worked with for over 40 years, will be playing in Portland tonight. A rare treat: he lives in NY, and seldom comes out here. Hes one of my very favorite musicians and composers on earth. He will be playing music from his latest solo album, In Water, compositions for solo clarinet and looping device, based on sounds he with his incredibly sophisticated hearing has heard over the years in bodies of water. Hell be on around 9:30 at Information Warehouse, 411 SE 6th. Before him around 8:30 is a Zen master singer songwriter, Michael Hurley: after is a supergroup called Battle Hymns and Gardens, featuring members of the Blue Cranes. Sorry for the late notice.
