Portland voters will vote on an initiative that would strip the Bureau of Environmental Services and the Water Bureau from the City of Portland and place them under a new water board. APANO and a grassroots coalition of communities of color and conservation groups oppose this measure and urge you to VOTE NO. The initiative would transfer $15 billion in public assets, including control of the Bull Run water supply, to an unproven board with no water or sewer experience, and susceptible to corporate influence. This is an anti-environment deceptive measure funded by polluters and large industrial water users, it would do nothing to lower water and sewer rates. Learn more at the link.
