Portsmouth Cricket Club Colts U15B 117 for 3 beat Portsmouth Community 111 for 4 The 15’s finished off the season on a very good win. Before the game the team discussed how they can develop their “cricket thinking” - understanding their roles within the team, and how those roles may have to adapt to meet the strategy/plans - to a player they all played a part. Batting first the openers of captain Dan Wallis (41) and Joe Kooner-Evans (27) grinded a solid 77 partnership which was visibly frustrating the home team. Having established a base Adam Joy (16*) and Charlie Slimm (12*) came in and "biffed" the ball to leave Portsmouth on 117 after 20 overs. The team decided that they could contain the home side and set about doing so - less concerned about taking wickets but restricting scoring opportunities. All of the available players bowled at least 2 overs and all did an excellent job as can be seen from the figures. Portsmouth Community was restricted to 111.Well Done All portsmouth.hitscricket/scorecard/fixtureID_340237/Colts-U15B-v-Portsmouth-Community-26-Jul-2013.aspx
