Portuguese artist Jorge Vadio has been in touch to tell us about his recent collaboration with legendary pianist Mike Garson - Official a recording of Life On Mars? Here’s a bit of background info from Jorge on how it came about, I am a Portuguêse artist with three albums recorded, my musical style is world Music. My latest album is called Rumoa Oeste I was in New York on tour to promote my last album, my first concert was in Henry Buhl Foundation, thats when I met Mike Garson, a mutual friend introduced me to him, he said to me he had much enjoyed my show, I told him that i am a great fan of his work and David Bowie. He asked me to send him my albums, so I sent to him by email, and made him the invitation to record two songs with me, one original and the other the Life On Mars Portuguese version. It was when I received a call from him two days later, saying that would be available and it would be a pleasure for him to write on my next album. I wrote a new letter in Portuguese and we went to a studio and we recorded the Portuguesa version of Life on Mars. We opted not to change the piano part, He wanted to do it as he usually do when he plays with David Bowie, He told to me we never Play in the same way . Mike Garson is a very generous person with great talent he is a genius, we became very good friends. I feel blessed.
