Position Description Outreach Workers Brass Tactics Brass Tactics is seeking Outreach Workers for an outreach and enrollment campaign in connection with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in Connecticut. The mission is to increase the number of Connecticut residents who are insured, lower their costs, promote health and eliminate health disparities. The campaign will educate CT consumers about new opportunities and responsibility to buy health insurance by reaching them where they live, shop and socialize. Outreach Workers will be the public face of the campaign and will be focused on educating and engaging consumers across the state through a variety of tactics. Outreach Workers will work closely with the Outreach Director and Deputy Outreach Director to ensure that regular progress is made toward long and short term program goals. The outreach program is a critical component of a larger campaign that will include more than eighty staff focused on generating leads for enrollment. The campaign itself will run through March 31, 2014. Positions will be located in various cities throughout the state. Salary is competitive and benefits include health care coverage. Job Responsibilities Educate and engage consumers in communities across CT on the opportunities to access health care insurance Work with Outreach Director and Deputy Outreach Director to ensure that outreach campaign tactics meet goals and effectively engage consumers Manage logistics for all assigned community events and outreach activities, and act as on the ground lead for all events and activities Manage data collected through outreach activities Staff storefront outreach offices Work with Outreach Director and Deputy Outreach Director to ensure continued progress toward all goals and implement adjustments as necessary. Reporting Outreach Workers will report daily to the Outreach Director. Qualifications At least three years experience working in public-facing capacity – experience working in a field or outreach position, on political or issue-based campaign, marketing, sales, customer service OR social service environment is particularly desirable. Must demonstrate strong communication and good interpersonal skills. Must be a self-starter with a desire to engage and interact with the public. Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task, prioritize work effectively, and an ability to excel in a team-oriented environment. Experience working in diverse communities and office environments Experience meeting quantitative goals under time-constraints Ability to work irregular hours including nights and weekends Experience working in health care advocacy or other issue advocacy is preferred Event management experience is a plus Ability to speak Spanish a plus Experience working in CT is a plus Ownership or access to a car is required To Apply Please submit resume and cover letter via email to [email protected].
