Position: Provincial Health Management Improvement Manager Location: Mpumalanga- Nelspruit Office Reporting to: Provincial Programme Manager The Provincial HMI Manager position will provide technical advisory and programme support services to the provincial, district, sub-district and specialised programme leads through informed strategic planning, implementation coordination, reporting and other activities relating to issues of general health management (strategic human resource management, public financial management, procurement, public health leadership and governance). Qualifications & Experience: • Minimum qualification health related diploma or Public Health • 5 years’ experience in health intervention programmes preferably PEPFAR/USAID • 3 years’ experience in the South African Public Health sector Key Responsibilities • Provide advisory support to the development of programme conceptual initiatives, work plans and implementation specifics relevant to addressing the district health problems and challenges. • Oversee and assure quality in programmatic deliverables from subordinates and work closely with specific program leads (strategic human resource management, public financial management, public health leadership and governance) to ensure seamless support to the province and district DoH. • Under guidance of the provincial programme manager ensure all objectives of the HMI programme are met • Support where necessary the process of data gathering, synthesising and analysing of quantitative and qualitative data generated from the programme for research or reporting purposes • Provide progress report on the programme performance by generating and submitting monthly programme reports to the line Manager • Participate in internal and external activities, meetings, seminars, symposiums, conferences, committees and task teams considered strategic to advancing HMI programme goals and objectives at the provincial, district and sub-district levels. • Supervise and coordinate the general implementation of HMI related activities in the province, district, sub-district and facilities, aligning of the programme plan to the provincial/district priorities, maintaining subordinate team coordination/cohesion in the implementation process, maintaining good relationship with the provincial/district based partners (especially DOH management team), giving periodic feedback report to stakeholders on the achievements of the programme. • Support the provincial programme manager in assessing the performance of the team and ensuring setting of performance objectives • Ad hocs: Provide required strategic support to other RTC’s initiative not necessarily within HMI but considered important and authorised by direct line manager.
