Position Vacancy Announcement Today’s Date: 6/26/2013 Posting #:8386 Job Title: Career Development Facilitator Location: 2401 Liberty Heights Ave. Mondawmin Mall #302, Baltimore MD 21215 Salary Range: $31,341-$48,854, Annualized Salary Status: Full-time, Temporary with benefits Position Overview: This is employment service work that involves providing a variety of supportive employment services designed to enhance participants’ employability. Services include various combinations of the following: counseling, assessment, employability development planning, motivational and world of work workshops, job development and placement. Essential Functions: Visits correctional institutions throughout the state of Maryland and provides workshops within a prison setting. Pre-enrolls clients and ensures proper documentation is obtained and available for employment and other related services upon release Recruits and screens for eligibility and appropriate referral and placement in training opportunities and/or jobs Provides employment, training and educational counseling in individual and/or group setting to enhance clients’ employability Assesses clients’ employment needs, skills and abilities Assesses clients’ adjustment and progress toward attainment of program objectives on worksites and in workshops and educational components Key Attributes: Knowledge of the goals, objectives, procedures and practices involved in employment testing, interviewing, workshop development, and counseling Knowledge of the economic, cultural, and social characteristics of the client population Ability to identify and relate employer needs to manpower programs Ability to effectively interview participants for vocational, educational and psychological assessment Ability to maintain effective working relationship with clients, associates, the general public and public and private agencies Required Education & Experience: Minimum of two years of college with at least two years of experience in vocational rehabilitation, job development, or related human service field Or, any equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience Experience working with the Ex-Offender population is preferred Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Maryland Driver’s License and Daily access to a motor vehicle Pre-employment physical and Criminal Background Investigation This position requires travel throughout MD and includes overnight travel MOED Employees receive priority consideration for open positions and must apply by 4:30pm on 07/02/2013.
