•Position from Wednesday October 2014 until Tuesday 31 March 2015 (*see below for hours) •Asia Pacific must attend event for the meeting, incentive, conference and exhibition industry •Exhibition held in Melbourne, 24 & 25 February 2015 Reed Travel Exhibitions, (RTE) a division of Reed Exhibitions, is the world’s leading travel trade event organiser. The company organises 15 events worldwide including the world’s largest meetings and incentives event, EIBTM, held annually. AIME – Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo; the largest and most important event for the meeting, incentive, conference, exhibition & business events industry in the Asia Pacific Region. Typically this event, first staged in 1993 attracts over 700 exhibiting companies from Australia and overseas. The Event Co-ordinator Intern role is to provide assistance and support to the Senior Event Coordinator and AIME team to ensure the overall success of the AIME event. The Event Co-ordinator Intern will work closely with the Senior Event Co-ordinator to ensure all event preparations and delivery of objectives for the event are achieved. A key emphasis is on the co-ordination of the special projects for the event. The role includes the following duties: Excellent communication and business skills and the ability to work well within a dynamic team. Planning Skills •Database Management •Excellent phone manner •Excellent customer service skills •Ability to multi task and perform under strict deadlines •Proficiency in web based applications •Proofreading skills •Organisation of meetings •Minute-taking at project and team meetings •General administrative duties •Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) Intermediate to Advance level •Strong business acumen •Attention to detail •Strong written and oral communication skills •Demonstrated organisational skills *Hours •Must be able to travel to Melbourne between 21 February – 26 February 2015 (inclusive) •This role is 3 days a week from October to December (not pre-determined) with core office hours being 9am to 5pm. From January the role is 4 days a week. •After the show the role will reduce to 1 day per week until the end of March. •Weekend work and extended working hours may be required in the lead up to the event •Office shut down – from Thursday 18 December 2014 – Friday 2 January 2015 (first day back at work Monday 5 January 2015) Highly Desirable •Tourism industry experience in the MICE sector •Events Interactive Software Experience •Reliable and wanting to work hard If you are energetic and self-motivated, take this opportunity to demonstrate your administrative and organisational skills within this successful and dynamic team.
