Positions for President: George Winifred Pinkerton-Guyer Election Statement I would like to apply for the position of President for the Falmouth University Ski Club I feel I would be suitable for the role as President as I work well in a team which can be shown through my love of team sports, during my time at school I was part of the netball and hockey teams requiring commitment and enthusiasm at all times. I enjoy discussing ideas and events in a group and also throughly enjoy organising large events such as the ski trips which I am very aware can be challenging catering for all needs and I am confident of working towards resolving issues. After leaving school I organised a trip for a large group of friends to Cyprus which included ensuring all areas were covered such as travel arrangements, accommodation and catering. Since then I have organised many ski-trips with my friends also incorporating travel, ski hire, lift passes, accommodation and catering. Having been fortunate enough to regularly ski from a young age I feel that I have a good overall understanding of resorts and ski-trips. I undertook a ski season working in Meribel during my gap year, where I worked as a ski-host for a 14 person chalet in which I was in charge of the budget and overall running of the chalet, preparing a 3 course meal every night with dietary requirements observed as well as baking fresh cakes and breakfast each day. This has allowed me to develop good organisational skills, timing, interpersonal skills which are highly important when dealing with a cross-section of clients. I have subsequently returned to the company to cover occasional weeks when I am free, again running chalets for them. I also thoroughly enjoy the social aspects of the events at the University and on the trip and can assure you I would give this role as much passion and input as I feel about all Snow-sports.
