Positives to pick from the game against Togo!!! =============================== Unlike several commentators who focused on the result between Uganda and Togo, i beg to differ and look at the positives. 1. Event management Success: With such a huge crowd you would perhaps think that managing the event was always going to be a hustle. To my surprise this was by far the best managed event with multitudes of fans flocking into the stadium without any hiccups. There were no pick pockets, while the security and presence of the men in green and blue ensured the safety of the fans. 2.Big Fan turn up: When eng Moses Magogo conceived and implemented the idea of the subcontracting and outsourcing event management, Some people within the football fraternity with help of their ignorant minds interpreted the move as one where the game had been sold. I now know why some people will always lead while others follow. The eng Stuck by his conviction and was not willing to be deterred by the negative voices of people who have never wished the federation any success. The English have a saying that Time is the best Judge On Saturday the decision and move by Eng Moses Magogo was not only justified but received an overwhelming stamp of approval. But what exactly does the big Fan turn up represent? For starters it implies additional mileage for the current sponsors. Poor Allan Ssewanyana Bwino (Masikiini) doesnt have the brains to see it that way. No wonder we shall always be ahead of you at FUFA and you will always follow and do exactly what we tell you because we are in charge. Secondly the Big fan turn up means better negotiation terms when it the current sponsorship contract ends. whether it is Magogo or you the Lumpen Allan, a platform for better terms will have been setup for you. Unfortunately Allan (Masikiini) and his cohorts are not blessed with that type of wisdom to interpret things beyond what they see. The big turn up attracts Government attention. It explains why the 350 million was released on the match day for the return leg against Togo. It was a pity to hear the lumpen shout on top of voice why government was spending 350 million on the cranes. So, Masikiini how did you want the team to travel? The Big turn up implies additional sponsors will be attracted to the game e.g. The cranes do not have an official soft drink partner, this would be the time with the help of videos to make presentations before some of these companies like Coca cola and Pepsi. The cranes do not have an official Oil and petroleum partner like Total, Shell etc this would be the time to make sponsorship proposals for such deals. They do not have an official banking partner like centenary, stanchart, Stanbic etc this would be the time to strike deals with them. My Ignorant friend (Masikiini) does have the brains to interpret things in a broader perspective. He thinks money that funds the cranes should be got from individual pockets of those managing the team. No wonder we chased you with disgrace when you presented yourself as a candidate to head this big institution. 3.The match day merchandise. When Eng Moses Magogo changed and patented the FUFA logo a section of people again led by my close and ignorant friend Allan Ssewanyana (masikiiini) criticized the move. But the brilliant eng Moses Magogo had looked far ahead of the game like a giraffe. He stuck by his intuition something that people who are meant to be led cannot have. In the week leading to the game, over 5000 shirts were bought and all that money directly benefits the FUFA secretariat. You can Hate or love Magogo but the idea of patenting the FUFA logo and using it on original jerseys is something that will benefit Future FUFA presidents so many years to come when Magogo will be gone. It therefore boarders on absolute stupidity and ignorance when a Radio and TV presenter fails to see the sense and wisdom in such a move. Masikiini what i can tell you and assure you is that we are going to introduce more products on the market for merchandise. Bwekiba kikuluma genda wetugge. But we are warning you to avoid dealing in fake products otherwise we are going to arrest you this time. Masikiini i hope you have heard. In brief those were the positives i picked up from the game. Were there any negatives? certainly yes; The result more than anything else was something that took the cream off the cake. But from a sporting perspective, those results will come and go. FUFA as a federation does not have the capacity to manage or dictate 50% of the results on the pitch. But those other responsibilities where it has over 90% control it has excelled well. To narrow the performance of the federation to performances on the pitch is to say the least skewed. Football is bigger than performances on the pitch. That said , football is a game that teaches us lessons everyday unfortunately our minds are so fickle that we forget easily. I could take the view that we lost the game due to complacency and that perhaps players believed before they even kicked the game that this was a done deal. This explains why big teams towards the end of the football season spend more time in managing expectations and avoiding complacency to creep into the team. How then do you explain Liverpools demise at the hands of crystal palace last season when they were leading 3-0 only to draw against a side fighting against relegation. All these are lessons for us to learn but we choose not to, either because our adrenalin levels are high or simply because we cant accept some things. The team needs some hard talk with a few harsh words but sometimes in football there is that odd game where everything just goes hay wire. I hope it was one of those games. I wish the boys success in Togo. Long-Live FUFA, Long-Live Moses Magogo, Long-Live Lawrence Mulindwa, Long-Live Uganda Cranes!!!
