Possession Rich But Happiness Poor I dont often deviate too far from the topics of training and nutrition but the video below has really shocked me into action. telegraph.co.uk/finance/businessclub/business-club-video/consumer-and-retail-sector-vide/11259894/Asda-Black-Friday-madness-as-frantic-shoppers-fight-over-TVs.html It was taken during the opening of the Asda of the Black Friday sale. It could very well be staged but hearing the accounts of others on social media today, scenes like this in shops have been common. In my opinion, people like those in the video are looking for instant gratification, much the same as others look to lift their mood by eating a sugar filled treat. Much the same as the binge eaters, once the momentary high wears off, what next for the comfort shoppers? Rather than judging, perhaps consider why most people feel the need to fight over another LED TV, a Playstation 4 or whatever the latest deal is. Over the last couple of years, as the amount of material things I possess has decreased hugely, my enjoyment of life as increased. Now I am not saying the key to happiness is throwing away all your possessions. But the only thing you need to be happy is one thing - PURPOSE, Every day I wake up and get on with whatever I need to do to become a better trainer, boyfriend, friend, brother and son. As Christmas draws nearer, its the thought of seeing loads my nephew Haydn that makes me smile and not the latest gadget sitting under the tree. I think the people in the video have lost track of this and there isnt a shopping trolley big enough to fill this emotional hole.
