Post #2 Racing towards Paradise in Dhul Hijjah And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous. Who spend [in the cause of Allah ] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good; And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah ? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know. Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers. 3:133-136 We are in constant need of motivation and there is no greater motivation than paradise, for those who truly and actually understand it. A life free of misery, pain, and hardship, replaced with pleasure, joy, and happiness. The joy we feel when we do a good deed is just a minute fraction of the joy that will be felt in the hereafter. In the first 10 days of dhul hijjah focus on doing three things: 1- Repenting and seeking forgiveness. 2- Fasting as many of the first 9 days as you can, especially the 9th day. 3- Give in charity even if just a little bit.
