Post #2. What a week!!! In finishing up a lovely and too brief visit with the Kahn and Goedecke family ( missing Rogier, Ryan, Leanne and Baby Audrey), Im left with the analogy of the onion and its layers, as it relates to Monikas disease. Her surgery, Trans Vascular Autonomic Modulation, is yet another step in this myriad of layers in her lil body. Her disease is complicated by many secondary issues ( other diseases ), and yet this is not uncommon to Late or Chronic Lyme. It is often two steps back with each gain. Her surgery seems to have brought some minor relief that can be built on , AND we are left with more puzzles to solve and treat. Rebooting her is a good start to being able to tackle some of these layers. It is long and tedious, and it is scary. With that, we know her team of doctors who do a wonderful blend of western and alternative treatments are invested and experts. My friend ( who gets this )asked tonight , Whats next? This was then what she sent me after I replied ......Anna, I love how nonchalant you are listing those steps. Oh, just re-write all the notes, get her port fixed and coordinate with all her docs for a plan. You know, so easy...😊. Haha, she knows me well. Yes, back home to add 2 more doctors to Monikas team, including a very specialized cardiologist , organize all my files, and notes.. Including numerous pending claims , make appointments , schedule port surgery , fill prescriptions, inventory all IV supplies and more.. With this, I end with a lesson from my dear Allison. Goedecke and Gale Kahn, do one fun thing a day( even if its itty bitty) . Everyday, one fun thing. I will add to this each day , a moment of thankfulness each day. Heres to unpeeling the many layers of the onion to get Monika to remission .
