Post Conviction Relief. I am thinking the 2014 Marijuana Initiative was pretty good but one thing that was left out was a way for people who had been convicted of marijuana crimes in the past to get any relief from those convictions. I propose that our next initiative have an additional paragraph that addresses this issue. Basically it would say that the Governor would appoint a 5 member commission to review petitions to have past convictions over turned, pardoned or clemency granted. Anyone who had been convicted in the past would be able to petition the commission and ask for relief. The main stipulation would be that no violence or property damage occurred in the commission of the crime they were convicted of. If the criteria was met the commission would then recommend to the governor what action should be taken. What do you think of this?
