Post-Doc: University of Oxford, UK Contributed by: Alessandro Abate, [email protected] The Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford seeks to appoint a research assistant at the postdoctoral level for a fixed period of 12 months starting in Q3/Q4 2014. The successful candidate will work in the field of advanced modelling, verification and control for building automation. Candidates must have a solid inter-disiciplinary research record (particularly on foundational work), in one or more of the following areas: formal verification, systems and control theory, and stochastic models. Job description: The researcher will devote full-time to the research and dissemination activities of the EU-funded AMBI project, focusing on advanced building diagnostics and prognostics, enhanced by virtual sensors and broad modelled with dynamical, stochastic, partially-observed systems. More details can be found at: ambi-project.eu Responsibilities of the fellow researcher will include: 1. Perform research independently and in collaboration with researcher within the AMBI project (Honeywell Labs Prague and TU Dresden) 2. Design specific solutions to problems in the considered area; implement, test and report on the results 3. Play an active role in integrating inputs from other researchers and giving them appropriate feedback 4. Provide and share expert know-how in the form of demonstration examples and lectures 5. Disseminate research results through publication in peer reviewed journals, presentation at conferences and workshops, etc. 6. Advise local MSc-level students on related projects 7. Teaching activities are an opportunity with this post, but are not required
