Post Home Purchase Solicitations: After seeing a post by a recent closing I realized that I should probably address the issue of solicitation. We as a business, nor I as a loan originator, sell your information to anyone or any entity. However, as many of you, particularly first time home buyers, may realize, there is a drastic increase in the amount of solicitations you receive post closing. Though some of these calls could be coincidental, most of them come from two sources: 1. Most of your real estate transaction is public record. Lead generation, marketing, and advertisement are multi-billion, probably more like trillion, dollar industries. As this is the case, companies have multiple automated systems to capture your data. There is nothing you can do to stop them from capturing records that are public. However you can detour them from calling by adding yourself to the "do not call" registry. To do this all you have to do is go to donotcall.gov and follow the prompts. 2. The three major credit bureaus, (Equifax, Experian, and Transunion), are in the business of, not only maintaining your credit file, but selling information as well. Should you want them to refrain from doing so, you can go to ftc.gov/privacy/protect.shtm and find instructions on how to stop them. I highly recommend doing this. Have a great week.
