Post Mortem of Metro Bus Project (purely on logical and government figures basis) Punjab Govt says cost of Metro Project for 27 KMs road Rs. 30,000,000,000/- Cost of latest state of the art TRAIN engine = 1.8 Million Dollars = $ 1,800,000/- Converting it into Rs = 1,800,000 * 100 = 18 crores = Rs. 180,000,000/- Cost of Metro / Cost of 1 Train Engine = 30,000,000,000 / 180,000,000 = 167 Engines (Approximately) Now please be neutral and tell me what would have been more feasible with the economy of this poor country? A benefit to public of whole country where 167 new engines could revive whole Railway or a stupid metro system in just 1 city and that too only one portion Is this the wisdom we elected? (Do not shy from goggling the costs of engines and asking me references)
