Post-Scarcity: Every house on every block would be energy - TopicsExpress

Post-Scarcity: Every house on every block would be energy independent. Nobody would need a job. Everyone would have the means to have anything they needed and wanted. What would human beings become in this world? We would be free to pursue history, science, art, socialisation, and recreation. There are no moochers, and there are no back breakers. There are no poor and there are no homeless. With the technology herein discussed, things could be manufactured from the atom up. Anything. A can soda, or a fusion-powered submarine. Just imagine a mundane scenario like this: You have to cut the grass. Right now, what do you do? You go to your shed, pull out a lawn mower, cut your grass. Right? Well imagine the means to replicate the mower on the spot, cut your grass, and then break down the mower, and ten minutes later make yourself lunch out of the same exact raw material. No need for bulky storage, no need for gas. Its all recyclable and reusable ad-infinitum. Michio Kakus estimate of a century might even be the long game. Some scientists and futurists believe we could see this future within the next three decades. Technology like 3D Printers, laser scanning, and nanotechnology, along with ever more powerful computers, are laying the bed for a Utopian society. Lets not forget super materials like Carbon Nanotubes which way outperform steel at the fraction of the weight. Not Socialism, not Capitalism, and not Communism. Post-Scarcity, where every man, woman, and child, is independent and free.
