Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, and grief week - TopicsExpress

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, and grief week seems to be upon us. So many of my friends and coworkers are suffering from terrible tragedies which have come upon our fellowship with blinding swiftness, leaving us to carry on dealing as best we can to manage a surreal emptiness we can only survive with each others help. The sudden loss of members of our team affect us in so many ways. The comfort of taking for granted the blessings of a skilled & dedicated colleague is replaced by fears of learning how to overcome the vacuum created by his loss. Today one team member is but a fond memory in spite of the heroic efforts of his colleagues who tried valiantly to move heaven & earth, as they have done countless times for others. Yet Another struggles today to survive professionally from an error, fault, or weakness which seems all too common in our craft, that has claimed so many promising careers. Having seen these horrors so many times in my tenure, youd think Id be in a position to offer understanding, or insight to quell the pain we all feel. Sadly in spite of my ability to usually produce desirable results from undesirable situations; I have no easy cure for this heartache. What has worked in the past, and will, Im hopeful carry us all forward into the challenges we must arise to face in the coming days, weeks and months, is the abiding love we have within our craft for not only those we serve, but especially those we serve alongside. It wont be easy, but I know, it will be worth the effort.
