Composers of the 18th and19th centuries also wrote special pieces of music for these natural horns, including Mozarts post horn serenade (KV 320) and Mahlers off-stage solo in his third symphony. This particular post horn in B-flat was made for use by the postal service in Brünn, the capital of Moravia at the time.
