Post op day 29 ~ Court just went down for a cardiac catch and a heart biopsy to keep an eye on any sign of rejection. She had a CT scan of her chest this morning as well. She has a pleural effusion (fluid) around her lung. They are trying to determine the cause. She is still on daily dialysis but is continuing to make urine on her own too. Overall, she is getting stronger. Our goal is to get her in a speciality chair by tomorrow. She was only able to eat an Italian ice last night due to nausea. She said her first real food tasted delicious though! Last night the nurse and I let her listen to her new heart. The look on her face was Amazing! It made everything we have been through this past month worth it all! She said it sounded so quite because she couldnt hear the mechanical mitral valve she used to have clicking along. Her sweet personality and positive outlook is returning more and more each day. The nurse said she was so lucky that she had a mom to rub lotion on her feet and legs all the time and she said Yes, I am. Thats the perks of having dead black toes. That made us all laugh. We still have no idea how much of her toes she will lose. Time will tell. We tried to stand her in Physical therapy yesterday but she is still too weak. We are working on building her leg muscles a little each day. She is beginning to use her hands more. She was able to use her IPod touch a tiny bit last night. She called Nick and Kelly last night to face time. They were so surprised and that made her so happy! I think we are going to make our goal of sitting in a chair and talking by Christmas!! God is so Good!!! We are so Blessed this Christmas Season! Thank you for your continued prayers everyone!! Please keep our donor family in your prayers as well.
