Postcard from Kyoto. I totally love being in Japan. Everything - TopicsExpress

Postcard from Kyoto. I totally love being in Japan. Everything is so.... so.... Japanese! We are usually the only foreigners we see. Harder to get around, but well worth it. I love hearing the perfectly coiffed older woman next to me slurping her soup so loudly. I love the attention to detail and beauty. Today is Saturday, and I have seen many women exquisitely dressed in kimono and wooden shoes, with those funny little two-toed alien sock thingies. Because? Ancient temples everywhere. So not Catholic in colour and style. Restrained. A place where people are so gentle and kind to me. A buddhist / shinto country. I could live here. Probably will. But eventually the need to rebel would probably find me getting into trouble. And she really could stop the slurping now. Off to see Geisha and Meiko tonight. Festival in Gion. Maybe the Shinto fox parade if we are lucky. Everyone is an artist. That has to be good. Kyoto is definitely the best introduction, and our hosts helped this incredible (literally) experience begin so well.... Love Liberty
