Ferrell, 81, of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014 at Huntington Hospice House after a long illness.He was preceded in death by his son, Rusty, and parents, Dennis and Crete Ferrell.He served in Korea with the U.S. Army; was a member of American Legion Post 93 in Kenova; retired operator for Ashland Oil; and a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church, Ceredo.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Adkins Ferrell, and two sons, Mike Ferrell of Woodstock, Ga., and Ed Ferrell and his companion, Paula Dilley, and her daughter, Calysta, of Ironton, Ohio. He is also survived by grandchildren, Becca (Justin) Mussara and Chris Ferrell; one great-granddaughter, Audrey Mussara; and special nephew, Scott Ashworth.Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Pastors Paul Meadows and John Fry officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Hill Memory Gardens, Yawkey, with military graveside rites by Alum Creek VFW Post No. 4768.Friends will gather one hour prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting curryfuneralhome.org.
