Posted: 3 Dec 2002 3:42AM GMT Classification: Query Catherine Sumter "Caty" Ramsey, born about 1782 in Burke County, NC, died in 1861 in Swain County, NC, is buried in the DeHart Cemetery on Licklog Creek in Swain County, NC, and was the daughter of Richard Ramsey and Betty Sumter. Catherine married on November 6, 1803 in Burke County, NC to Nathan DeHart, born on February 23, 1781 in Rowan County, NC, died on September 10, 1861 in Clay County, NC. Nathan is buried in the DeHart Cemetary on Licklog Creek in Swain Co., NC, and was the son of Elias DeHart and Elizabeth Tolson. Nathan and Catherine had the following children: John H. DeHart, William DeHart, Mary DeHart, Soloman DeHart, Eleanor "Nellie" DeHart, Sarah DeHart, Eli Martin DeHart and Elijah Morgan DeHart. (Information from Appalachian Pioneers, by G. C. Elizabeth married William Crisp, who was born about 1756 and was the son of William Crisp and his wife, Francis.
