Posted by - Pat Brennan I think old age makes you quite nostalgic which is why I enjoy looking at the wonderful images and reading the articles in these pages. I havent lived in Walsall for forty five years. Some memories persist though. I lived in Rollingmill street as a small child and remember every brick and every event very clearly. I have written it down for my grandchildren who just would not believe that their Nan who knows all about computers and stuff lived in a house with no running water in it. I have a question. I never knew any grandparents but my mother said her father was a blacksmith who shoed the barge horses she said he was Six foot seven, a giant in those days. I know that is true because everyone is still tall in the family even now. Is there anywhere I can check this story. The family name was Burford and they lived in Wolverhampton street close to the town.
