Posted by Brooke Strickland This story brings so much hope! After being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, this man started taking long walks with his dog to think and pray. He stumbled upon this old, abandoned church from the 1860s. It was locked, but he sat on the steps and prayed there on a regular basis. He noticed that the building itself was failing and he wanted to do what he could to help restore it. Soon, he began chipping away the layers of paint and even in the midst of his cancer treatments and lack of energy, he continued to work on the church. When the door was unlocked and he went inside, he was met with a beautiful, but dusty interior. He continued to work on the church, all the while talking to God. Today, his cancer is in remission and he says that his work on the church building is his way of saying Thank You to the Lord for what he did in his life and in his body. Our God is miraculous!
