Posted by Lou Pietosi Friends of Little Joey & family - this important request comes directly from Officer Tom Rigatti, Joeys hero and partner on the Bethel Patk Police Force. PLEASE SHARE and come out Monday! Thank you all! Hello everyone, It is with a sad and heavy heart that I must announce that my partner, Joey Fabus passed away on Wednesday evening. Joey was a true inspiration to the officers of the Bethel Park Police Department, my family, and me. Joey’s courage, determination, and loving nature made all of us realize just how lucky we really all are. I will miss Joey’s bright smile very much and it has been very difficult coming to terms with his passing. I truly was praying and hoping for a miracle and I believed it would happen until the end. I was fortunate and honored to have been a small part of Joey’s life. Joey inspired me in a way that is difficult to express in words and I will miss him very much. Joey’s viewing will be at Paul Henney Funeral home on Route 88 on Saturday 1/24 and Sunday 1/25 from 1pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday 1/26 at 10 am at St. Bernard’s Parish in Mt. Lebanon. Joey will be buried with full police honors and will be laid to rest in uniform. Law enforcement agencies from across the state will attend the funeral in full support of Joey and his family. I am requesting that the procession route be lined with supporters of Joey and his family. On Monday it would be extremely appreciated if you and other members of the community would stage along the procession route with “Stay Joey Strong” signs for the family. The procession will leave Henney Funeral Home at 9:25 am and proceed up Brightwood Road passing the Bethel Park police station. We will turn left onto Highland Avenue and proceed to Bethel Church Road. We will then turn left onto Bethel Church Road and follow to Fort Couch. We will turn right onto Fort Couch Road and follow to Route 19. We will then turn right (North) on Route 19 and follow to the Church. I know Joey’s journey brought this community together in the hope that a miracle would happen. It is my hope that the community can come together to celebrate Joey’s life, honor Joey’s courage, and show support for the Fabus family. Please consider coming out and being along the procession route Monday with “Stay Joey Strong” signs. Please pass these final arrangement details on to your family, friends, and neighbors. Thank you, Tom Community Resource/Crime Prevention Officer Bethel Park Police Department
