Posted by Wes George: November 25, 2014 Government of Canada Minister of Aboriginal Affairs Bernard Valcourt House of Commons Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0A6 Constituency Office 14 Costigan Street (Main Office) Edmundston, New Brunswick E3V 1W9 Minister Valcourt, This intergovernmental letter is to inform you of the following: 1. The Ochapowace Nation will provide your department of aboriginal affairs with an audit of monies and funds received from your department only. 2. All other audits are the exclusive property of the Ochapowace Nation and its people, and will not be made available without our conditions being met. 3. The proposed sanctions you have threatened the Ochapowace Nation will be met with rejection, non-interest and action. 4. The take it or starve ultimatum threats are outdated tactics employed in the past to have our peoples surrender and comply are being actively and routinely applied without conscience or consideration of indigenous peoples and treaty rights. 5. That the use of “aboriginals” to advance, implement and protect your settler laws on the original peoples that they themselves connect with, is despicable and makes them complicit in treason against their own peoples, nations and rights. 6. The offer of other options that have an effect of compromising, destroying, or eliminating our legitimate inherent rights are acts we will reject. 7. The Ochapowace Nation rejects outright the Legislation you and your government has developed and passed. Including Bill C-27 Financial Transparency Act and others of similar design and intent. 8. Ochapowace Nation condemns all legislation formulated by yourself, your department and your government. 9. Your legislation and laws are assimilative, genocidal and are genuine acts of extermination. 10. The Ochapowace Nation possesses Sovereignty as recognized by our Original Sovereign Nation status that existed before you and your ancestors set foot on our lands and territories, and continues to this day. 11. The legislation that you and your government developed are acts of war against our being, capacities, integrity, and rights. 12. At the minimum your legislation represents an act of terrorism committed against our peoples including children and elderly. 13. We will be seeking any and all remedies to bring resolution to this despicable situation that you and your government have willfully without conscience has applied on our Nation. Finally Mr Valcourt, we demand that your assimilation-extermination-genocide action plans be destroyed and replaced with a more accurate relationship that our Treaty and Indigenous Peoples Rights represent. In that context, we have prepared appropriate nation-to-nation and fiscal agreements that are forward looking and are compatible with existing international norms and standards, and we would make ourselves available to sit and discuss as equals our objectives and solutions. Yours in government to government relations, Tim Bear Headman Intergovernmental Relations c.c.
