Posted this on a few sale/swap pages, its a little long but I wrote it out to give to the police and to inform people (instead of writing differently for both) so I tried to go in to a little detail: LOOK OUT for a Black Peugeot 5008 (13 plate). Most of you have probably heard on the radio recently about car thieves targeting vehicles with wireless/keyless/push button start feature but dont let this think you are safe if you have the usual key ignition, just that keyless cars are much easier to steal so they are the primary target... Today was my turn, our vehicle hasnt been stolen but I was followed from work to home with a stop in the process. When I left work I drove to Aldi on the roundabout at top of Oldham Way (A627) where it meets Chadderton Way, as I got on the A627 from Manchester Rd/St I noticed the Peugeot 5008 (I didnt realise I noticed it or even acknowledged it until I left Aldi and seen it again in my rear view and thats when I remembered that this is the vehicle that came in to my lane as I joined the A627), I put this down to coincidence and left it at that. I proceed to drive home up Oldham Rd>Rochdale Rd for 4.5 miles, about 1 mile up a VW Passat pulled out on the Peugeot 5008 and the driver of the 5008 kept poking out behind the silver Passat, I assumed he was angry and wanted to overtake the Passat, I turn left into the road that has maybe 5-6 streets joined on to it, one of which where I live and is a dead end but lots of room to drive around. As I turned left the 5008 carried on. Now my car has a turbo and I like to look after it so I let it cool down for 2-3 minutes before I turn the ignition off (the guys obviously assume I’ve more than likely got out the car my now and gone in my place), I see the 5008 drive past and turn around at the top of the car park and then creep past our car with heads peering out of the 5008 checking out our car and probably what number we live in (painted in the designated parking spaces), they wouldn’t of seen me in it as the seats are quite large and they could only see the back end of the car, naturally I turn my car on put it in reverse to follow them and by the time I had reversed out they had sped off, as I got back to Rochdale Rd I could see them about 500m up the road, I catch up to them and they start driving the limit everywhere (guessing a tactic to try and not cause concern) they drive around for 30 minutes driving down 50+ different roads and streets until I lost them somewhere around Lightbowne Rd in Moston. So they followed me from Oldham, through Royton to Rochdale then I followed them from Rochdale through Chadderton, through Middleton, through Blackley, down to Harpurhey, back up to Moston. From where I first seen them/they seen me, to where I last seen them (which is probably where they live as they knew the streets around there well) is only 4 miles away, but they drove around 25 miles following me and then trying to get rid of me. Only after one thing. I had the full vehicle registration in my head but after I lost them my mind went blank. Advice: if you see this car tailing you or ever feel like any car is tailing you, try and shake them off of drive towards your local police station and just let them know, while you might shake them off or the fact it might be nothing, it will take 2 minutes for the police to add the registration to a list and if someone else rings or goes in with the same registration they know it is an issue.
