Postgraduate Research Assistant in Molecular Mechanisms of Bacterial Chromosome Unlinking University of Oxford -Department of Biochemistry Department of Biochemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford Grade 6: £26,527 - £31,644 p.a. We are seeking to appoint a Postgraduate Research Assistant to undertake research on the molecular mechanisms of bacterial chromosome unlinking with Professor David Sherratt FRS. Applicants should possess an MSc and should have relevant research experience in genetics, biophysics, biochemistry and imaging. The successful candidate will have a proven training and/or research record in microbial, biochemical and cell biological research, be highly motivated with good communication skills and have the ability to work as part of a team. This full-time post is funded by the Leverhulme Trust for up to 25 months from 1 August 2014 and is based at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford. The research is part of an inter-disciplinary collaboration between experimental biologists, mathematicians and work on computer simulations. The successful candidate will be expected to become familiar with mathematical topology and molecular dynamics simulations. The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.
