Posting Title: Human Resources Officer, P3 Job Code Title: HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER Department/ Office: Department of Economic and Social Affairs Duty Station: NEW YORK Deadline: 16 September 2014 Job Opening number: 14-HRE-DESA-35372-R-NEW YORK (X) This position is located in the Associate Experts (JPO) Programme, Human Resources Management (HRM), Capacity Development Office (CDO), Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) CDO furnishes integrated management support services to the substantive divisions of the Department as they provide advisory services on request to development countries and countries with economies in transition, and formulate and implement capacity development projects. The incumbent is under the overall guidance of the Chief, HRM, CDO, and the direct supervision of the Chief, Associate Experts (JPO) Programme. Education Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in human resources management, business or public administration, social sciences, international affairs, education or related area. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Work Experience A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, administration or related area. At least 2 years of experience in placement and/or recruitment in international setting and conducting competency oriented selections/ interviews is required. At least 1 year of experience with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, IMIS) in the administration of HR is desirable. Experience in international fund raising, donor relations and organization of international meetings is desirable. Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
