Posting for a friend: Looking for caregiver referrals - TopicsExpress

Posting for a friend: Looking for caregiver referrals (especially from my RN friends) My sister Trina Roberts (in Sacramento) needs caregivers who can give my parents some breaks from 24/7 care. If you know of anyone looking, even with minimal experience, they will train, but they *have* to be responsible and watch her every move (she is basically like a 55 baby that can hurt herself very easily if you arent looking). Great candidates would perhaps be someone you know in nursing school who has a good heart and wants to learn a lot about people with disabilities and how to give meds (and would be great for your resume)! No minimum amount of hours required. Ideally this would be someone who would also be comfortable giving meds through a feeding tube periodically during full day care-giving (which is rare), but most of the time it would only be for a few hours here and there that only requires watching her and hanging out with her (she cannot speak but makes sounds and loves to laugh). The job requires fingerprinting which my parents will pay for and a 45 minute intro class to IHSS (In-home Support Services) if theyre not already registered. The pay isnt great as it comes directly from the state at just around minimum wage ($9.64/hr). Feel free to private message me any questions or recommendations. Here is a link to my sisters site so you can learn more about her: blinkofaneyefoundation.org/about/ Let me know if you know of anyone who might be interested and Ill put you in touch! - Sarah
