Posting now from the first computer Ive built in ... fifteen years? Sounds about right. For the record, its MUCH easier than it used to be. If you know how to change the oil in your car, you can build a basic computer. Youll get the parts you want and its cheaper than buying a pre-built system with the same parts. My new machine isnt super-souped-up, but its better than my previous desktop that was five years old. For the record, you should invest in a Solid State Drive. I dropped for a Samsung 840 EVO (@ 250GB) as my boot drive, and this thing is a beast. My old desktop took ~5 minutes to go from off to fully booted. This thing boots my computer in ~20 seconds. And Im diggin my Corsair 750D case. Fits up to 6 hard drives and 4 solid state drives.
