Posting this not to scare people away from kibble, but to inform - TopicsExpress

Posting this not to scare people away from kibble, but to inform those concerned so they can better judge the ingredients in the kibble they may choose to feed. I am not totally anti-kibble. I do feed the Carna4 kibble that we sell as it is high quality and synthetic free. We even have junk food nights where the dogs will get a super-delicious-but-not-so-nutritious semi-moist food. I feed mostly whole people foods like lean meats, fish, liver, dog-safe veggies, eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, whether they be in addition to the Carna4 or to the high quality, human-grade commercial canned products Ive chosen, or as home-cooked meals on their own. Their diet is designed to be varied and have balance over time. They get a few supplements too. I am not a fan of raw-feeding myself, but know many who swear by it. I even like the Smack brand food or raw dehydrated food that we sell. What I hope people get from this share is that it is so important to know what you are feeding your dog. That means doing your research so you understand ingredients, and dont just look at the big print and graphics on the packaging. Read about all types of feeding to make informed choices. Research so you know what questions to ask at the vet or pet store, and, shop where staff is fully informed and sells only high quality products. Dont let what you feed be an easy choice as that could lead your pet to hard times. ----Renee
