Postnatal depression (PND) is a mental health problem that affects around one in seven Australian women – and up to one in ten women will experience depression during their pregnancy too – antenatal depression. Anxiety is thought to be even more common and many women experience both anxiety and depression at the same time...Being anxious during pregnancy is natural – there are so many strange things happening to your body that you may or may not have expected – but there is anxiety that is past the norm. If your anxiety is preventing you from functioning like you normally would, or stopping you from enjoying the fact that you’re expecting a baby, it might be time to ask for professional support or advice.
