Potato Latke recipe for my non- jewish newfie shiksas! 450 grams (1 pound yellow potato) dont peel 1 large onion Kosher salt but non kosher is okay too salt is salt lol ( use to your liking) 1 egg (60 grams), beaten ( I put 2 eggs in ) Freshly ground black pepper, to taste Garlic salt and onion powder Vegetable oil for frying (lots) 2-3 spoonfuls of flour Grate the potatoes an onions in a bowl- once grated, put mixture in a tea towel and drain all excess water... Then place back in bowl- stir in egg, salt, pepper, flour etc- put lots of oil in pan- spoon clumps of latke slop into pan... cook on medium heat- when you flip over the latke, squash it like a pancake, turning them every 1-2 minutes until golden crispy brown! Be sure and taste one of the first ones to make sure it is cooked through. If not, reduce the heat a bit or make the next batch thinner. Try not to eat all of them yourself. Enjoy Ladies :)
