Potential LNG development on District Lot 444: FULL PUBLIC REPORT: tinyurl/od58far Tonight from 5-7pm at the Highliner there is an information session regarding the zoning of Lot 444 for potential LNG development. City Staff, Dr. Faggetter, the Environmental Engineer commissioned by Prince Rupert Legacy Inc. and representatives of Exxon Mobil will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. Where are we with the process of Lot 444? 1. Tonight, Tuesday Nov 25th from 5-7pm at the Highliner the City is hosting a public information session - this is the 3rd public meeting / info session that the City has hosted in regards to this project. 2. Wednesday, Dec 3rd from 7-9m at the Highliner The City of Prince Rupert is hosting a public hearing on the Quality of Life Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 3350, 2014 and Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 3351, 2014. This means you can attend to express your concerns regarding this zoning decision. The City and Council will hear all of your concerns before making any decisions. Although I do appreciate your comments here on Facebook, and will answer your questions to the best of my ability here - for your concerns to be officially heard you must come on the record during a public hearing. Please read the report before attending the hearing on Dec 3rd as its answers many questions regarding the environmental, social and economic impacts. Please also note that zoning property and developing it are two different things. If zoned, the proponents still have to go through an Environmental Assessment process with the Province and obtain approval. The public can also participate in the EA process.
