Potteries Junior Youth League- Sunday 22nd September 2013 Under 15s Division 1 Madeley White Star 2-1 Newcastle Town FC Under 15s Newcastle started brightly from kick off, attacking down the flanks with Jackson in particular. The promising start took a blow when a goalkeeping error allow Madeley to steal the lead. Castle responded and some good openings arrived, and had it not been for brave defending from the Madeley back line surely would have resulted in a Castle goal. Debutant Tommy Van Der Laan looked to be working well with midfield partner Ledgar but again it was Madeley who looked like scoring when they hit the post on a rare break away. It was Madeley who scored next on the 37th miunte. Castle responded quickly when Jackson crossed for Van Der Laan who headed home on his debut. Castle had lots of play and possession second half, pegging Madeley to only counter attacks and rare breaks into the Castle box. Madeley defended very well, and despite lots of good opportunities Castle came away without any points to show for their dominance. Man of the match- Tommy Van Der Laan
