Poverty is a big business. What we as Detroiters have to come to terms with is that Poverty may be one of the biggest wealth creators in the city of Detroit, and cities like ours across the nation. We see first hand the effects of poverty in our communities reminiscent to the various stages of cancer. First it shapes our self image, then it robs us of our personal responsibilities, and then it gives us a false sense of entitlement and finally it leads us to devalue life. Because Poverty can be artificially engineered and administered to an uninformed people, it has been almost a perfect weapon against us, delivered by those who come as friends with this program....or those benefits....and this organization....or by people who want to sponser our marches, brought to us by our favorite politicians. We have to reject poverty and the politicians and programs that perpetuate them.
