Power Crazed & Hopping Mad......... I have, as some of you know, always had a soft spot for Slovenian electricity. I cant quite put my finger on why :-) So with this in mind it is great to welcome Eles eles.si/en on board as the prime sponsor of Mr Hops, the boat that Marin and I will row from Tunisia. Eles are the electricity distribution utility in Slovenia. There is a massive amount of planning going on for the row. Its a good job Marin is a great organiser. The equipment, boat registration (yes, Mr Hops will have plenty of paper for any Mr Flip Phones we may meet), route plan, food supplies etc. Mr Hops is currently in a shipping container making his way from Cape Verde to Tunisia where he should arrive 28 January. Some weeks ago we decided to extend the row which will now see us living on board for 40-50 days. Mr Hops will now hop from Tunisia to Malta, Malta to Cyprus then Cyprus to Turkey, a distance of some 2500km. The decision to do this and miss Egypt, Israel and Lebanon was done primarily to maintain the human powered integrity of mediterr année as well as for logistics and timing reasons. It is a shame to miss these countries but Im happy the row more than makes up for it in terms of an adventure!
