Power Outage impacts Tinker AFB Tinker Air Force Base is currently experiencing a power outage impacting a major portion of the base. The outage primarily impacts activity in the vicinity of building buildings 3001, 3105, 3102, 2280, 3234, 3705. The Tinker AFB Installation commander has authorized Wing and Home and Staff Directorates to use liberal leave for day and swing shifts in facilities impacted by utility outages Off base personnel needing to conduct business with individuals in the impacted area should call their on-base points-of-contact in advance. On base personnel have been advised that the list of buildings affected may be adjusted as events occur; any questions should be directed to unit supervision. Commanders and equivalents have the ability to exempt selected individuals, by name, from taking liberal leave if they are required to remain in a duty status to support operations/mission execution until properly relieved. Commanders and equivalents may also exempt selected individuals from taking liberal leave if they are assigned to alternate work locations. Affected employees should continue to check the Tinker AFB Facebook page for updates. Tinker officials stress, safety is of the utmost importance. If personnel must utilize buildings without power for shelter, please ensure monitors are in place to prevent personnel from roaming those facilities, and ensure periodic accountability is enforced.”
