Power failure in Riviera and Rietondale areas 22 September 2014 The residents of Riviera and Rietondale areas are currently experiencing a power failure due to three cable faults. Currently, there are 30 mini-substations / outdoor-substations which are off affecting the electricity supply to these areas The City of Tshwane Energy and Electricity Division is busy attending to these faults. The City depot and test section anticipates that electricity should be restored within the next 24 hours. Affected customers are urged to report power failures by SMS. SMS the word “power” followed by your account number to 082 612 0333 or 44676. You can also report a power failure to 012 358 9999 (choose the electricity option) or 080 1111 556. Consumers are advised to treat all electrical points as live. Switch off all non-essential appliances to assist with the load on the electrical network. The City apologises for the inconvenience caused to the affected residents.
