Power in Gods Word Part - 4 Genesis 1:1-3 -- In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Proverbs 18:21-- Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. You will be wondering - Is it true that death and life are in the power of the tongue? Tongue is a reference to the spoken Word. What our tongue produces has eternal implications, for it reveals what is in our heart. For example a judge or jury, by simply saying a word, can cause a person to live or be taken to the gallows. When a doctor advises surgery a life can be saved. A preacher who preaches the Word of God to a suicidal person also saves a life. In the sense of causing action, then, the tongue does indeed have the power of life and death! Mathew 12: 35 -- A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. Jesus always spoke what He wanted to see in the physical world. For example in Mark 2: 11 - Jesus says to the paralytic man I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house. When Jesus entered Jairus house, (Mark 5: 41) He went into the room where Jairus daughter lay and taking the child by the hand, said to her, Little girl, I say to you, arise. Jesus heals the man with the unclean spirits (Mark 1: 25) by saying, Be quiet, and come out of him! Jesus didnt call the paralytic man paralytic, nor did He refer to Jairus daughter as being dead. Neither did He call the man with the unclean spirits possessed. Jesus spoke healing! Gods Word says we should look into the spiritual mirror which is the Word of God and see and speak the promises that are applicable to our situation. The physical evidence will surely follow. Are we willing to make a firm decision to speak according to the Word of God irrespective of the situation we are in? Speaking about the problem is of no use, but speaking to the problem in the name of Jesus will definitely bring desired results. It is not enough to say we are Christians. We must live the faith, not only with our words, but with our actions - Pope Francis.
