Power of Suggestion - Thanks Paulla Davis Beyer!!! LOL!!! A couple of weeks ago my dear friend Paulla told a story about being out and coming home with chiggers. I hadnt thought of those pesky little critters in years. Well today, I went to see about Jeremys tree (and it is doing amazing btw), but I thought it needed water. I had to make several trips back and forth to the water fountain tromping over the Bermuda grass to water the tree. Now I dont know if there were any chiggers in that grass or not, but thinking about Paulla (who lost her son a few months after J left) I got to thinking about those damn chiggers! On the drive home I swear I could feel them crawling, but knowing they hadnt turned red yet, filled with my blood - I just couldnt be sure. I had to make a fast run up to the hospital, so once inside I slathered my legs and feet with that anti-bacterial gel they have all over the hospital. Yeah, I know - they arent bacteria, but how many cells can a chigger have and wouldnt the gel just suffocate them? On my way back home another call came thru and I had to go back to moms place and yes, I could still feel the crawling. Once I got home I got my own antibacterial gel out and drown my feet, ankles and legs in the stuff....even covered my arms as I am sure they were now up there crawling around as well, since I had been trying to brush the invisible buggers off with my hands. Thirty minutes later my mind is still telling me they are there, so into the shower I go...this time armed with a scrub - the rough kind - like for your feet and a handy-dandy scrub sponge...you know the kind....the ones for getting the cooked on stuff off your pots and pans~!! If there is a chigger left on my body, then there is a chigger god somewhere and next time I will try to eradicate it too, cause I have shed myself of my nice tan and very little skin is left! ...and thats the truth.....pffffffft!
