HORARIO The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Wednesday announced that up to 10 hours of power outages would take place in several towns and cities in Tarlac and Isabela on Friday. Lilibeth Gaydowen, NGCP North Luzon corporate communications and public affairs officer, said the power interruption in Isabela, which will start at 8 a.m. and last until 6 p.m., would affect the towns of Naguilian, Benito Soliven, San Mariano, Gamu, Burgos and Reina Mercedes and Ilagan City. Gaydowen said parts of Cauayan City will also be affected, namely: the villages of Alicaocao, East Tabacal region, parts of Tagaran, parts of Nappaccu Pequeno and parts of San Fermin. She said the NGCP will be replacing wood poles and cross arms along the Gamu-Ilagan-Naguilian-Reina Mercedes 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line. The NGCP, likewise, announced that a power outage would take place in several towns in Tarlac and Nueva Ecija from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. The long power interruption will affect the distribution utility, Tarlac II Electric Cooperative Inc. (TARELCO II). Among the affected areas include Concepcion and La Paz towns in Tarlac and Zaragoza town in Nueva Ecjia. The power outage will facilitate the commissioning of 69-kV feeder protections for TARELCO II breakers. “Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion,” the NGCP said. NGCP’s customers and the general public were advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled power interruptions.
