Power producer sets up solar plant: NTPC has set up a 10 mw solar energy plant at Ramagundam in Andhra Pradesh using crystalline silicon modules. This apart, it has plans for another 15 mw in the second phase, which would be taken up during 2014- 15. The power from this project would be sold to Andhra Pradesh. NTPC CMD Arup Roy Choudhury would commission the 10 mw project Wednesday. NTPC, India’s largest power producer, had an installed capacity of 42.454 mw and NTPC Group accounted for 27.37 per cent of total electricity generated in India with 18.44 per cent share of country’s total installed capacity in 2012-13.
