Powerful regional youth program looking for a new home in Kalamazoo; do you have ideas? On behalf of the Nobel-nominated international PeaceJam Foundation, the Great Lakes PeaceJam affiliate is seeking a new home! Since 2002, Great Lakes PeaceJam has provided thousands of young people, ages kindergarten through college, with award-winning social justice and service-learning curricula in the states of Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana. Every year, to culminate the activities of the youth, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate visits the hosting community, and supports, inspires, and encourages PeaceJam youth and community members to become transformational leaders to promote peace, environmental stewardship, and social justice. A Kalamazoo-based transitional leadership team is currently pursuing interested non-profit and community-based organizations, and institutions of higher education for this hosting opportunity.
