Praise the Lord, I got a very good surgical pathology report. Grade 1 ( not aggressive, slow growing) positive hormone receptors (thats very good) The 4 lymph nodes the Dr took out on the cancerous side turned out to be 14 sentinel lymph nodes (when removing breast tissue during a mastectomy the surgeon often takes more nodes than they plan to, nodes are small) she also took 2 lymph nodes on the healthy side . the plastic surgeon also took 2 lymph nodes though not sentinel nodes when he began his part... ALL 18 NODES WERE CANCER FREE. This is wonderful news. However, my oncotype test results were not in yet. I go back the 13th of next week to meet the oncologist and get the oncotype results. The results of this test will ultimately determine if the oncologist recommends chemotherapy in addition to hormone therapy to prevent a future occurrence. Prayers are being answered, thank you Jesus and thank you that have been praying on my behalf. Please continue to pray that the oncotype results will indicate that the chance of another occurrence is so small the the risks associated with taking chemotherapy will outweigh the benefits. Every thing points to that, but being BRCA1 + has the potential to effect the outcome. Again thank you all for your prayers. I am truly blessed, thankful and give God all the praise and glory.
