Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee; Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee. Ponder anew what the Almighty can do, If with His love He befriend thee. This is a verse in the hymn, Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty. The Lord is the one who prospers our work. Any good we do, any accomplishments we achieve, are all becasue He equips us. When we are complimented we should give praise to the Lord, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure, (Philippians 2:13). And when we are attacked or slandered about we should praise the Lord, for He is our Defender. Sometimes we will be blessed to see His justice prevail, but other times it will appear that the person is getting away with it. Dont make the mistake of focusing on the will of man instead of the Lords sovereignty. To avoid becoming prideful of our accomplishments, and to avoid allowing our circumstances to define us instead of refine us, we need to be in the Word. It will bless us and equip us. We need to be in fellowship with the body of Christ, to encourage us and to hold us accountable.
