Pray about Everything 12:54 AM last night - my phone rings. Its my youngest daughter. Of course, a 12:54 AM phone call from ones daughter is always enough to make a fathers heart rate go up. Hey honey, whats going on? Dad, Benny [the dog] is really sick. He has thrown up 6 times and there are pieces of plastic from the frisbee. He is whining a lot and I think he is in pain. I called the 24 Hour Vet and I think I have to take him in. Okay, I say. He sounds pretty sick. Do you know where the vet place is? Do you need me to meet you there? No, she says. I can handle it. But its pretty expensive. Its $85.00 just to bring him in and then they have to see whats going on. I think to myself, Great!!! Another bill!! But I say, Well, Okay. Ill put some money on your debit card. We have to take care of him. Get on your way and text me when you arrive. I lay back down and pray. Lord, keep Catherine safe as she drives. Give us favor with the vet. Stretch forth Your hand to heal Benny. Thanks for watching over all things for me. Ten minutes later my phone rings again. Its Catherine. Dad!! Benny is totally fine! He is running around. He looks happy. He stopped whining. I called the vet and they said to watch him a bit longer, but if he is being his usual self, you can wait till morning and see how he is then. I breathe a sigh of relief and pray a short prayer of thanks. My heavenly Father is so faithful. I cant count how many big things and little things I have prayed about over the past 40 years. And always, my Father is faithful to hear and answer. Just thinking about $85.00 plus dollars for a vet trip for the dog made me recall again how over the past 35 years of my life, I have spent less than $500.00 on myself at the doctor!! — just a couple quick visits to find out all was well. This family of God is a great family! This New Covenant is a great covenant! Pray about Everything. Dont worry about Anything. Let your requests - plural - be known to the Lord. Always add all the faith you have to your prayers - trust Your Father; He is kind, loving, merciful. And never forget to offer thanksgiving for all the answers you receive!!
